Kano Commissioner Leads NNPP Defectors to APC in Grand Ceremony

In a significant political move, Kano State Commissioner for Water Resources, Haruna Umar Doguwa, led a group of defectors from the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in a grand ceremony in Doguwa Local Government Area of Kano State. The defection included key members like Alhassan Ado Doguwa and other NNPP officials.

The event also saw the launch of the 2027 second-term campaign for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf. Doguwa emphasized the need for the defectors to work towards the success of the APC and its leadership.

The defection led to the collapse of the NNPP structure in Tudun Wada, Doguwa Local Government, with the entire executive and legislative team joining the APC. Governor Yusuf and 22 lawmakers, along with eight National Assembly members and 44 local government chairmen, were part of the defection, further strengthening the APC's position in Kano State.
