Doctor Suspended in Kano for Reporting Under Alcohol Influence

A doctor in Kano State has been suspended for reporting to duty while under the influence of alcohol, as confirmed by the Kano State Health Management Board. The board's executive secretary, Dr.

Mansur Mudi Nagoda, approved the immediate issuance of a formal query to the doctor and ordered the suspension pending the outcome of a comprehensive investigation. Samira Sulaiman, the board's public relations officer, described the alleged behavior as grossly unacceptable and a violation of the ethical standards of the medical profession.

The board stressed that healthcare delivery requires the highest level of responsibility and sound judgment, particularly in secondary health facilities where patient lives are entrusted to medical personnel. Dr.
