Kano Governor Praises NECO Fee Suspension by FG

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf commended the Federal Government for suspending the increase in the National Examinations Council (NECO) examination fees. This commendation was conveyed through a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad, on Wednesday in Kano.

Yusuf described the federal government's decision as a thoughtful intervention that would alleviate the financial burden on millions of Nigerian families and enhance access to quality education. He also praised President Bola Tinubu's administration for implementing various reforms aimed at improving educational access under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Additionally, Yusuf acknowledged the efforts of the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, and the Universal Basic Education Commission for their commitment to promoting inclusive and affordable education nationwide. He noted that the timely release of UBEC counterpart funds has facilitated the construction and rehabilitation of schools and the implementation of other basic education projects across Kano State.

Yusuf reiterated the state government's commitment to collaborating with the ministry, UBEC, NECO, and other relevant agencies to invest in education for improved learning outcomes.
