Kano Governor Issues Order to Sustain Durbar Festival, Promote Cultural Heritage and Tourism

Kano State Governor signed an executive order mandating the state's traditional council to continue organizing the annual Durbar Festival to preserve Kano's centuries-old cultural traditions. The announcement was made during the opening of the maiden Kano Festival of Arts and Culture (Kanfest).

The governor highlighted the importance of preserving Kano's rich heritage and listed ongoing projects aimed at preserving and modernizing the state's historical landmarks. The festival featured various art exhibits, performances, storytelling, music, and opportunities for artists and artisans.

The Rwandan ambassador commended the initiative as a historical step in reawakening Africa's cultural pride.
