Kano Governor Abba Yusuf Sacks Head of Service

On Tuesday, Governor Alhaji Abba Yusuf of Kano State announced the immediate dismissal of Alhaji Abdullahi Musa from his position as the state head of service. This decision, communicated through a statement by the governor's spokesperson, Sanusi Tofa, is part of the administration's ongoing efforts to reform the state civil service for greater efficiency and improved service delivery.

The governor expressed gratitude for Musa's contributions during his tenure and wished him success in future endeavors. In the interim, Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, the permanent secretary of the administration and general services in the cabinet office, has been directed to act in the capacity of head of service until a substantive appointment is made.

This administrative shift follows recent political realignments in Kano, particularly Governor Yusuf's defection from the All Progressives Congress to the New Nigeria Peoples Party, prompting adjustments within the political and administrative structures of the state.
