Kano Governor Fires Aide For Masterminding Drug Baron’s Bail

Kano Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has dismissed his aide, Salihu Tanko-Yakasai, for allegedly orchestrating the release of a drug baron on bail. In a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ibrahim, it was revealed that Tanko-Yakasai had been involved in the termination of the bail of the drug baron.

The Governor also warned against any public officer engaging in such activities. Additionally, another aide, Tasiu Adamu, was fired for his involvement in the arrest of a senior special assistant to the Cabinet Office for allegedly stealing palliative grains from a warehouse.

The statement indicated that the aide had been arraigned in court and was facing charges of theft and criminal conspiracy. Governor Ganduje ordered the aide to return all government property in his possession.
