Kano Governor and KASITDA Win eGovernment Awards in Lagos

At the 2026 eGovernment Excellence Awards held in Lagos on Thursday night, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf was awarded the eGovernment Governor of the Year – Education & Digital Learning Award. KASITDA, the Kano State Information Technology Development Agency, received the Best State Digital Governance and Innovation Award.

These recognitions highlight Kano State's increasing role in Nigeria's digital transformation and the administration's dedication to utilizing technology to enhance governance and create opportunities for citizens. Governor Yusuf's award acknowledges his efforts in promoting technology in education and digital learning across the state.

KASITDA's award reflects its strategic role in advancing Kano's digital governance agenda, supporting digital infrastructure, and fostering innovation. The agency's initiatives align with the Kano State Digital Economy Policy and the broader Digital Transformation Agenda.

Dr Bashir Abdu Muzakkari, Director General of KASITDA, stated that the awards affirm the governor's vision for a digitally enabled Kano and will motivate further efforts towards a responsive government.
