Kano Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf Prioritizes Education

At the second and third combined convocation ceremony of Al-Istiqama University in Sumaila, Kano State, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf reaffirmed his administration's commitment to prioritizing education as crucial for human capital development and sustainable growth. He noted that the 2026 budget reflects this priority, with the education sector receiving the largest allocation.

The governor commended Al-Istiqama University for its role in expanding higher education and creating opportunities for youth. He assured the university of ongoing government support and collaboration.

During the ceremony, 1,101 students were conferred with various degrees. The university's founder, Senator Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila, highlighted the institution's mission to provide accessible, quality, faith-based education.

Three Kano-born individuals, including the late Alhaji Aminu Dantata, were awarded honorary doctorate degrees for their societal contributions. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Abdulhadi Sule-Kumurya reiterated the university's commitment to quality education and urged graduates to apply their knowledge for community development.
