Kano Governor Yusuf Mourns Presidential Media Aide Onwubuariri

Salihu Onwubuariri, a former staff member of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) and a presidential media aide, passed away in Kano on Monday at the age of 48 after a protracted illness. Kano Governor Yusuf described Onwubuariri as a dedicated public servant and accomplished journalist who significantly contributed to public communication at the Presidential Villa.

In a condolence message, Governor Yusuf expressed that Onwubuariri's death was a painful loss to his family, colleagues, and the entire information and public relations community. The Governor extended his condolences to the Presidential media team, the Federal Government, and Onwubuariri's immediate family, including his wife, Mrs. Onwubuariri Catherine Ezinna.

Onwubuariri had been receiving treatment for about a month at the Kano Cancer Hospital, authorized by the Kano State Government. His remains were transported from the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital to Owerri, Imo State, for burial.

The handover of the body was conducted by Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, with Mr. Oche Echeija Egwa receiving it on behalf of the Presidential media team. Governor Yusuf emphasized Onwubuariri's legacy in presidential communication and journalism.
