Kano Governor Yusuf Sets New Date for Defection to APC Amidst Political Maneuvering

Kano State Governor Yusuf has rescheduled his defection from the Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The governor revealed the updated timeline during a closed-door session with members of the Kano State House of Assembly.

Governor Yusuf plans to formally resign from NNPP on Saturday, declare his APC membership on Sunday, and collect his APC membership card on Monday. There are discussions about the distribution of stakes within the APC, with Governor Yusuf mentioning a 60% stake for the party's major stakeholders.

Additionally, there were attempts to persuade Rabiu Kwankwaso to join APC, although a meeting with him was reportedly canceled. Talks of alliances with former presidential candidate Peter Obi are also reportedly in advanced stages.
