Kano Govt, NUJ Establish League Of Veteran Journalists

The Kano State Government and the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) have established the League of Veteran Journalists in a bid to preserve the standards and integrity of journalism in the state. The initiative, endorsed during a Media Interactive Dialogue event, aims to provide professional advisory and mentorship to younger journalists, while also addressing contemporary challenges in the industry.

The league's committee members include seasoned journalists and media professionals, who will work towards strengthening ethical journalism practices and reshaping the media landscape in Kano State. The State Commissioner of Information and Internal Affairs reaffirmed the government's commitment to supporting the initiative and improving the quality of journalism in the state.

The NUJ President highlighted the importance of the league in recognizing the contributions of veteran journalists and improving journalist welfare.
