Kano Government Releases N5bn for Retirees' Benefits

The Kano State Government disburses the fifth batch of N5 billion for gratuities and death benefits owed to retirees and families of deceased civil servants. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf announced the release, symbolically presenting a cheque to beneficiaries.

This payment is part of the government's commitment to gradually clear the backlog of entitlements, with the aim to settle all by the end of the first term in 2027. The governor thanked pensioners for their patience and assured them of the government's dedication to resolving their long-standing issues.

Traditional leaders, including Emir Rano Muhammad Isa Umaru, commended the government for the payments, highlighting the challenges pensioners have faced in accessing their benefits.
