Kano Government to Marry 2,000 Couples in Mass Wedding Scheme

The Kano State Government plans to marry off 2,000 couples in a mass wedding scheme to promote social welfare and discourage immoral practices. The State Hisba Board has been directed to prepare for the wedding program, targeting widows, divorcees, and spinsters facing financial challenges.

The couples will undergo medical screenings, including tests for Hepatitis and genotype verification, to ensure transparency and fairness. Governor Abdullahi Ganduje's administration reintroduced the mass wedding scheme to support families in need.

The exact wedding date is yet to be announced, but preparations are already underway for a smooth conduct of the ceremony.
