Kano Hisbah Cancels Court-Ordered TikTok Marriage Due to Lack of Consent

The Kano State Hisbah Board canceled a court-ordered marriage between popular TikTok personalities, Ashiru Idri and Basira Yar Guda, following reports of lack of voluntary consent. Despite a magistrate court's directive, the Hisbah Board halted the process after investigating and discovering the couple's reluctance and fear of punishment.

Dr. Mujahedeen Aminuddeen Abubakar, the Deputy Commander General of Hisbah, revealed that the decision was to avoid conflict and ensure marriages are based on mutual consent.

The matter has been referred back to the court for further legal action.
