Kano Lawmaker Ado Resigns from NNPP to Join New Party

Hon. Abdulhakeem Kamilu Ado, who serves as a member of the House of Representatives representing the Wudil/Garko Federal Constituency in Kano State, has officially resigned from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

The resignation, dated March 30, 2026, was communicated through a letter sent to the ward chairman of Kausani Ward. Ado stated that his decision to resign takes immediate effect and is motivated by his intention to join a political party that he believes will better address Nigeria's challenges.

He emphasized that the decision was made in good faith and was necessary to align with a political platform that he deems essential for providing effective solutions to national issues. Despite his departure from the NNPP, Ado expressed gratitude towards the party's leadership for their support during his tenure.

The resignation letter was acknowledged by the ward chairman, Abdulrashid Umar Ado Dai.
