Kano's Deputy Governor Advocates for Ties with Saudi Arabia

At a ceremony marking Saudi Arabia’s 96th National Day, Deputy Governor Aminu Sule Garo, representing Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, urged for enhanced cooperation between Kano and Saudi Arabia. Garo highlighted the historical relationship founded on religion, trade, and Islamic scholarship, advocating for practical partnerships that would yield tangible benefits for the people of Kano.

He commended the Saudi government for its humanitarian efforts in Nigeria, specifically mentioning the sponsorship of a surgical operation to separate conjoined twins from Kano as a testament to Saudi Arabia’s ongoing support. Governor Yusuf congratulated the Saudi government and people on their National Day, describing it as a celebration of unity and development.

Consul General Khalil Ahmed Al-Adamawi reaffirmed the strong ties between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia, particularly emphasizing the shared religious and cultural connections. The event was attended by various dignitaries, including representatives from neighboring states and members of the diplomatic corps.
