Nigeria and Saudi Arabia Strengthen Ties in Key Sectors

Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, announced that Nigeria and Saudi Arabia are strengthening their bilateral ties beyond traditional areas, with a focus on agriculture, energy, investment, aviation, financial technology, and trade. This statement was made during a reception in Abuja to celebrate the 96th National Day of Saudi Arabia.

Idris emphasized the historical and cultural connections between the two nations, noting that Nigerians have long traveled to Saudi Arabia for various purposes. He mentioned that Nigeria could learn from Saudi Arabia's development as it implements economic reforms under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The Nigerian government is investing in infrastructure, electricity supply, and reforms in the oil and gas sector, while also focusing on agriculture and technology. Idris welcomed Saudi investors and highlighted the potential for cooperation in several sectors, expressing confidence in the growth of bilateral ties through increased trade and investment.
