Kano State Signs Renewable Energy Deals to Boost Clean Energy Access

Kano State government has signed agreements with Tricel Solar Solutions and IR Green Energy Limited to establish solar panel manufacturing plants with capacities of 600MW and 500MW, respectively. The move, announced during the Nigeria Renewable Energy Innovations Forum in Abuja, signifies a significant step towards expanding access to clean and affordable energy, promoting local manufacturing, and creating job opportunities in the state.

The partnership also involves collaboration with the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) to provide technical advisory and support. Kano aims to position itself as a leading renewable energy and green manufacturing center in West Africa.
