Kano Commissioner Confirms No Interference in Ganduje's Legal Cases Amid APC Defection

The Kano State Commissioner for Information, Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, stated that the state government, led by Governor Abba Yusuf, will not interfere in ongoing legal cases involving former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje. This assurance comes after Ganduje's defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor Yusuf welcomed Ganduje to the APC and assured him of an automatic ticket for the 2027 governorship election. Ganduje expressed confidence in Yusuf's leadership.

Chief of Staff to Ganduje, Moham Garba, reiterated the commitment to respect the judiciary's independence and expressed confidence in a fair trial without political influence. Several high-profile cases involving Ganduje are currently in different courts, including those related to contracts, finances, and governance during his tenure from 2015 to 2023.
