Nnamdi Kanu Loses Prison Transfer Bid as Lawyer Quits in Abuja Court

Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), sought a transfer from Sokoto prison to a correctional facility within the jurisdiction of the Federal High Court in Abuja. However, his lawyer, Demdoo Asan, withdrew from the case citing irreconcilable issues.

The presiding judge, Jame Omotosho, commended the Legal Aid Council for upholding the dignity of the court. The court deemed the application motion incompetent but directed all involved parties to serve notices for the next court session.

The lack of proof of service led to the ex parte motion being struck due to incompetence.
