Deji Adeyanju Calls Out Karma for Kayode Egbetokun's Removal

Deji Adeyanju, a Nigerian lawyer and human rights activist, publicly addressed the recent removal of Kayode Egbetokun from his position as Inspector General of Police. Adeyanju described this event as "karma" for Egbetokun, indicating that he believes Egbetokun's past actions have led to this consequence.

The removal occurred following President Bola Tinubu's decision to appoint Tunji Disu as the new Inspector General of Police on Wednesday. Adeyanju also warned public office holders to remain circumspect in their dealings with Nigerian citizens, emphasizing that state power is transient.

He recalled the challenges faced by former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai and former Attorney General of the Federation Abubakar Malami, suggesting that they too should be wary of their positions. The announcement of Egbetokun's removal has faced significant resistance from various Nigerian activists, who accuse him of illegitimately occupying his office.
