Katsina Governor Hails Security Forces for Thwarting Kidnapping

Katsina State Governor Dr. Dikko Radda commended the Nigeria Military, the Department of State Services (DSS), and local vigilantes for successfully preventing a mass kidnapping in Gidan Iyado, Kakumi Ward, Bakori Local Government Area. A statement from the State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. Nasir Mua’su, revealed that the intelligence-led operation occurred on a Monday, leading to the neutralization of 18 armed bandits.

The operation was initiated based on credible information regarding a planned mass abduction for ransom by the bandit group, which was led by Alhaji Musa Duki, a former school headmaster turned bandit kingpin. The security forces recovered one G3 rifle, two AK-47 rifles, 14 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, three motorcycles, two cows, and 94 sheep.

Governor Radda assured residents that covert operations are ongoing to track and dismantle Duki's network and prevent further kidnappings in Bakori, Faskari, and surrounding communities.
