NPSF Commends Military for Rescuing 610 Kidnapped Victims

The North Peace and Stability Forum (NPSF), a non-partisan advocacy group, praised the Nigerian Armed Forces for rescuing over 610 kidnapped individuals from various locations in Nigeria during August. The group recognized the military's significant achievements in the ongoing fight against terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping, which bolster national security and public confidence.

In a statement by Chairman Aminu Daura, the NPSF specifically lauded the elimination of a notorious bandit kingpin in Katsina State, viewing this as a major setback for criminal networks in the North-West region. The forum emphasized the successful rescue operations, including the safe return of 15 members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), as a remarkable humanitarian achievement.

The NPSF acknowledged the leadership of Chief of Defence Staff General Olufemi Oluyede and urged security agencies to maintain pressure on fleeing criminals. The forum expressed optimism that these achievements would encourage displaced persons to return to their communities and restore economic activities.
