Katsina Police Arrest 19-Year-Old for Attempted Robbery

The Katsina Police Command arrested a 19-year-old man for alleged impersonation and attempted robbery on August 22. According to the Command spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Sadiq-Aliyu, the suspect was reported to be chasing an unidentified person while brandishing a toy pistol at around 7:00 PM.

Police operatives, in collaboration with local vigilante members, responded swiftly and apprehended the suspect at approximately 8:00 PM in Kofar Sauri, Katsina. A black toy pistol was recovered from him during the search.

The suspect is currently in police custody as investigations are ongoing. The Commissioner of Police in Katsina, Ali Umar-Fage, praised the community and local vigilante group for their vigilance and cooperation, urging residents to remain alert and report any suspicious activities to the police.

He emphasized the importance of collaboration between security agencies and the public in combating crime in the state.
