Lagos Police Arrest Armed Robber, Recover Pistol and Charms

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command arrested 29-year-old Olajunja Segun Samson, a suspected armed robber, during a routine patrol in the Igando area of Lagos. The police patrol team became suspicious of a motorcycle carrying three men, prompting them to intervene.

Upon sighting the patrol team, the suspects attempted to flee, resulting in the escape of two accomplices while Samson was apprehended at the scene, leaving behind the motorcycle. A search of Samson and the abandoned motorcycle led to the recovery of a locally fabricated pistol and assorted charms believed to belong to the suspects.

Samson is currently in police custody, and detectives have initiated a manhunt for the two fleeing accomplices. The Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the operatives for their vigilance and professionalism, reaffirming the command's commitment to combating violent crimes.

He also urged residents to support security agencies by providing timely information to aid in crime prevention.
