Police Arrest Suspected Armed Robber in Lagos

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command arrested a suspected armed robbery suspect, Olajunja Segun Samson, aged 29, during a routine patrol in the Igando area of Lagos State. The arrest occurred when a police patrol team noticed a motorcycle carrying three male occupants behaving suspiciously.

Upon sighting the police, the suspects attempted to flee, leading to the apprehension of Samson while the other two suspects escaped, abandoning the motorcycle. A search of the suspect and the abandoned motorcycle resulted in the recovery of a locally fabricated pistol and assorted charms.

Samson is currently in police custody, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing accomplices. The Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the operatives for their vigilance and professionalism, reaffirming the command's commitment to tackling violent crimes and encouraging public cooperation in reporting suspicious activities.
