Katsina United Clarifies Chinedu Ozor's Death Report

Chinedu Ozor, a player for Katsina United, collapsed during a pre-season match against Niger Tornadoes at the Gusau/Ahlan Pre-season Cup in Katsina on Tuesday. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where a doctor initially pronounced him dead.

Katsina United announced his passing, but Heartland FC, his former club, later reported that he had been moved from the morgue to intensive care after medical personnel observed movements in his body. Katsina United's media officer, Nasir Gide, confirmed that after being taken to the morgue, Ozor was returned to Katsina General Hospital's intensive care unit.

The club released a statement clarifying that reports of Ozor regaining consciousness were inaccurate, expressing deep sorrow over the incident and acknowledging the grief felt by his family, teammates, and friends. Heartland FC also issued a condolence message, honoring Ozor's efforts and expressing their sorrow over his untimely passing.
