Kebbi Police Justify Detention of ADC Chairman Sufiyanu Bala

The Kebbi State Police Command has responded to allegations of unlawful detention regarding Sufiyanu Bala, the state chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Police spokesperson Bashir Usman stated that Bala's detention is in compliance with a valid court order issued by the Chief Magistrate Court in Birnin Kebbi, mandating his custody pending a court appearance scheduled for Monday, April 27, 2026.

The command refuted claims of unlawful detention, emphasizing that their actions are strictly judicial and not arbitrary. Bala has requested medical attention, which the police have promptly honored, ensuring he receives appropriate care in Birnin Kebbi.
