Kebbi By-Election Conducted Peacefully Amid Low Turnout

The by-election for the Zuru State Constituency seat in the Kebbi State House of Assembly took place peacefully on Saturday, although it was marked by low voter turnout across various polling units in Zuru Local Government Area. Reports indicated that between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM, residents engaged in their normal daily activities, with shops and businesses operating as usual while electoral officials awaited voters.

Abubakar Kana Zuru, the Kebbi State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressed optimism about improving turnout and the smooth conduct of the election, despite the rain. Muhammad Jafar Gajer, the APC candidate for the Kebbi South Senatorial District, commended the voter participation, emphasizing the election's significance for the party's future.

Salihu Dangoj, the Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, visited several polling units and noted the importance of women's participation in the electoral process. Overall, the election process was orderly, with no major incidents reported.
