Kebbi Government Thanks Tinubu for Argungu Festival Support

The Kebbi State government has expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for his support in successfully hosting the 61st Argungu International Fishing Festival. The appreciation was conveyed by Deputy Governor Umar Tafida during the closing ceremony of the event, which took place on a Monday in the presence of President Tinubu.

The festival underscores the federal government's commitment to promoting Nigeria's cultural heritage and tourism development. Deputy Governor Tafida commended Governor Nasir Idris for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to the festival's success, describing him as the chief promoter of the festival's revival on the global cultural tourism map.

Tafida also lauded Emir Argungu Muhammad Sama Ila and the Emirate Council for their guidance and efforts in preserving the historical festival. He acknowledged the contributions of sponsors and strategic partners, noting the critical financial and technical support from the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) and stakeholders in the Nigerian automotive industry, particularly for the Argungu Motor Rally.

The Deputy Governor praised the dedication of fishermen, cultural groups, security agencies, media members, and volunteers throughout the event, reaffirming the state government's commitment to sustaining and improving the festival for continued peace and progress in the state and the nation at large.
