Kebbi Governor Praises Army for Anti-Banditry Troop Deployment

On Friday, Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State commended the Chief of Army Staff for the deployment of additional army units to the state to support anti-banditry operations. Speaking at a military camp in Yauri, he acknowledged the military's gallantry and patriotism.

Idris stated that the presence of the troops would enhance the efforts of other security agencies already active in the region, particularly in the Yauri/Shanga/Ngaski axis, which has been facing incursions from bandits from neighboring states including Niger, Zamfara, and Kwara. He reiterated his administration's commitment to creating a conducive environment for the military to operate effectively and stressed the importance of state governments collaborating with the federal government to secure volatile areas.

Idris urged security agencies to eliminate the bandits, expressing confidence in the military's professional capabilities, as demonstrated in peacekeeping missions globally.
