Kebbi Lawmaker Alhaji Bunza Defects to APC from PDP

Alhaji Ibrahim Moham Bunza, a lawmaker for the Birnin Kebbi, Kalgo, and Bunza Federal Constituency in Kebbi State, has officially defected from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). In a statement made available to Blueprint in Sokoto, Bunza cited persistent leadership crises and internal conflicts that have plagued the PDP as the primary reasons for his departure.

He noted that the ongoing crises have left him with no option but to defect, as the PDP is grappling with unresolved leadership challenges and prolonged litigation, significantly weakening its capacity to function as a credible political platform. Bunza emphasized that the situation within the PDP has made it increasingly difficult for committed members to contribute to its growth and democratic responsibilities.

After wide consultations with his constituents and political stakeholders, he decided that joining the APC would be in the best interest of his constituency and enhance his ability to deliver effective representation. He formally submitted his resignation letter to the PDP ward chairman of Nasarawa 1 ward.
