Kebbi Governor Idris Mourns Gwandu District Head's Death

Comrade Nasir Idris, the Kebbi State governor and Kauran Gwandu, expressed profound sorrow over the death of Gwandu district head, Sarkin Gabas, Alhaji Muhammad Zayyanu Haruna Rasheed, who died on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, following an illness. In a condolence message issued on Thursday, Governor Idris described the late traditional ruler as a significant loss to both the people of Gwandu and Kebbi State as a whole.

He highlighted Rasheed's commitment to serving his community, noting that he was a peaceful and God-fearing leader whose wisdom and dedication earned him great respect. The governor stated, “The news of the demise of Alhaji Muhammad Zayyanu Haruna Rasheed, Sarkin Gabas na Gwandu, is deeply saddening; he was a man of peace, humility, and unwavering faith in ALLAH.” Alhaji Muhammad Zayyanu Haruna Rasheed was 61 years old and is survived by one wife and four children.
