Kebbi NLC Celebrates Idris' Anniversary, Urges Housing Action

The Kebbi State Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) congratulated Governor Nasir Idris on the third anniversary of his administration, highlighting achievements in various sectors. Murtala Usman, the NLC chairman, praised the governor for significant progress in infrastructure, education, and healthcare since taking office three years ago.

The NLC noted the governor's commitment to improving the lives of workers and the general population through various development projects and policies. Usman emphasized the importance of fully implementing the N75,000 minimum wage for civil servants and maintaining prompt payment of salaries and pensions.

The administration's interventions in the health sector, including the construction and renovation of general hospitals and the recruitment of teachers, were also commended. However, Usman called on the state government to intensify efforts to address housing challenges faced by civil servants and advocated for the establishment of a housing allocation committee to ensure fair distribution.

The NLC reaffirmed its commitment to protecting workers' rights and welfare.
