Kebbi Governor Idris Mourns Speaker Muhammad Usman Zuru

Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris expressed profound sorrow over the death of the Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Muhammad Usman Zuru, who died on April 6, 2023, in a Cairo hospital while receiving treatment for a prolonged illness. The Clerk of the Assembly, Suleiman Shamaki, confirmed the news.

Idris described Zuru's passing as a tragic loss for both the state and the nation, highlighting his role as a stabilizing force in the legislature and a true patriot. He noted that Zuru's tenure brought relative stability to the Assembly, with fewer internal crises compared to previous sessions, attributing this to Zuru's consensus-building approach and deep understanding of the state's political dynamics.

Zuru, born on April 5, 1970, is survived by his wife and five children. Idris called for prayers for Zuru's soul and urged the people of Kebbi State to find strength during this difficult time.
