Kebbi State Launches Erosion Control Project with World Bank

An agreement has been established with the Bio Engineering Construction Company to implement erosion control measures in the Badariya and Dukku Malala Communities within Birnin-Kebbi metropolis. Hon. Musa Muhammad Tungulawa, the State Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, announced this during a press briefing on Tuesday.

The projects will be executed through the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change in collaboration with the Kebbi State Agro Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Project, with support from the World Bank. The interventions include constructing two erosion control and bio-engineering sites at Badariya Community and two at Dukku Malala Community, all awarded to A.G.

Vision Construction Nigeria Limited, selected through a transparent procurement process adhering to World Bank regulations. Tungulawa expressed gratitude to Governor Nasir Idris for his support and commended Hon. Ahmad Isa-Tela, the State Project Coordinator of ACReSAL, for his team's dedication.

The projects aim to benefit over 50,000 residents affected by gully erosion and flooding.
