Labour Party Urges Workers to Maintain Faith Ahead of 2027

On International Workers' Day, the Labour Party, represented by its public secretary Ken Asogwa, called on Nigerian workers to keep faith with the party, which it claims genuinely reflects their values and aspirations. The Labour Party, registered in 2003, emphasized its deep-rooted commitment to the struggles of Nigerian workers.

Asogwa acknowledged the current administration's efforts to alleviate the harsh realities faced by workers, particularly in light of the recent increase in minimum wage amidst inflationary pressures. The Labour Party commended the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) for their steadfast commitment to protecting workers' rights.

The party assured Nigerian workers that it would not abandon the collective struggle for good governance and fair wages, aligning with the ideals of the International Labour Organization. Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections, the Labour Party urged workers to remain confident in their eventual triumph.
