Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda Prepare for 2027 AFCON Hosting

Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda are actively preparing to co-host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). A significant preparatory meeting took place in Kampala, attended by sports ministers, football federation presidents, and local organizing committee officials.

This meeting marked a crucial milestone in the preparations for the tournament. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) General Secretary praised the host nations for their progress thus far and emphasized the importance of strong collaboration and disciplined execution to share a unified vision for the tournament's success.

The representatives from the three countries expressed appreciation for CAF President Patrice Motsepe's ongoing support and guidance throughout the preparation process. Discussions also focused on central infrastructure development, hospitality, security, and updates on stadium construction, renovation, improvements to transport networks, airports, and accommodation facilities.
