Kenyan Opposition Leader Raila Odinga Dies at 80 in India

Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga, aged 80, has died in India. Odinga, a member of the Luo ethnic group, was a key figure in Kenyan politics for over four decades.

He endured imprisonment and exile during the autocratic rule of President Daniel Arap Moi. Odinga was known for his pro-democracy activism and contested the Kenyan presidency five times, alleging electoral fraud in his last four attempts.

He collapsed while walking with his sister and daughter in Kerala, where he was receiving care at the Sreedhareeyam Ayurveda Hospital and Research Center.
