Keyamo Calls 2027 Election a 'Coronation' for Tinubu

Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, expressed strong confidence that President Bola Tinubu will win re-election in the 2027 presidential election, referring to the contest as “a coronation, not an election.” Speaking on the Channels Television programme Politics Today, Keyamo defended the Tinubu administration's performance and highlighted recent electoral victories for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). When questioned about the potential candidacies of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, Keyamo dismissed their chances, questioning where Obi's votes would come from and laughing off concerns about Atiku.

He concluded by stating that Tinubu's re-election is almost guaranteed, emphasizing that his assertion is based on demographic calculations. Tinubu is expected to run for a second term on the APC platform alongside Vice President Kashim Shettima, with Atiku and Obi as his main challengers.
