Kogi State Launches Security Sensitisation for Workers

The Kogi State Government initiated a workplace security sensitisation campaign across all 21 local government areas, focusing on enhancing security awareness among workers. The programme, themed “Workplace Security: Protection, Sensitisation and Preparedness Against Banditry and Kidnapping,” commenced in Okene Local Government Area.

Comrade Onuh Edoka, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour Matters, addressed workers in the Central Senatorial District, emphasizing the importance of vigilance and preparedness. He noted that the security measures implemented by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo's administration have fostered a conducive work environment and industrial harmony.

Edoka urged workers to remain alert and make informed political choices ahead of the 2027 general elections, stressing that security is a collective responsibility. He encouraged workers to resist “the politics of mischief” and focus on policies that affect their welfare.

Local NULGE chairmen and the Vice Chairman of Ogori-Magongo LGA expressed support for the campaign, highlighting the importance of collaboration between government and organized labor.
