Kogi Police and Army Search for Kidnapped Victims

The Kogi State Police Command and the Nigerian Army have intensified their search for kidnapping victims along the Okene-Auchi Road, deploying tactical teams and drones to suspected hideouts. ASP Afusat Salisu, the command’s spokesperson, stated that the operation began immediately after the incident, focusing on forest areas, particularly around Ebiya Forest.

The operation involves personnel from various police units, including the Anti-Kidnapping Unit and the Violent Crime Response Unit, as well as support from the Edo State Police Command. To prevent the escape of criminals, joint operations have been strengthened across the Kogi–Edo border.

Although no victims were recovered in the initial phase, the search continues with tactical teams advancing towards identified locations. Items believed to belong to the perpetrators were found and destroyed.

Commissioner of Police Naziru Kankarofi has directed the teams to persist in their efforts until the victims are rescued and the suspects apprehended.
