Ex-Army Chief Advocates Power Rotation in Kogi State

Vice-Admiral Joseph Ajayi (retd.), a former Chief of Defence Intelligence, has endorsed the principle of political power rotation in Kogi State, asserting that it would foster equity, inclusion, unity, and shared prosperity. Speaking in the Kogi State capital ahead of the event themed “Rotation Kogi for Unity & Shared Prosperity,” Ajayi articulated that power rotation should not merely involve the distribution of political offices but should ensure that every region in Kogi has a sense of belonging and opportunities for meaningful participation in leadership.

He stressed that this initiative would promote fairness, mutual trust, and political stability, while also highlighting that rotation must be paired with qualities such as competence, integrity, accountability, and capacity. Ajayi emphasized the need for leaders to commit to improving the welfare of the populace, asserting that political inclusion should lead to tangible development for residents.

The event is organized by Special Apostle Adebayo Emmanuel, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Kogi State, alongside Sheikh Salman Adam, Chief Imam of Ankpa.
