Dangote Cement Honored for Social Performance in Kogi

The Kogi State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (K OCCIMA) honored Dangote Cement's Obajana plant for its significant social performance during its 2026 annual general meeting held in Lokoja, Kogi State. The award was presented by K OCCIMA's Vice President, Alhaji Auwal Ibrahim, who urged the company to maintain its commitment to community development.

Mr. Samuel Enejoh, the Director General of K OCCIMA, indicated that the award followed a satisfactory outcome from an independent consultation that evaluated Dangote Cement's adherence to community development agreements.

Mr. Azad Nawabuddin, the Plant Director, accepted the award on behalf of the company, emphasizing Dangote Cement's ongoing commitment to implementing provisions of the community development agreement.

He highlighted various initiatives, including educational scholarships and infrastructure development, aimed at improving the quality of life in host communities. The company expressed gratitude to the Kogi State government and local stakeholders for their support.
