Dangote Cement Trains 40 in Fish Farming Entrepreneurship

Dangote Cement PLC Obajana conducted a training program for 40 participants in fish farming and entrepreneurship, primarily targeting women from the host community. The ceremony was attended by representatives from the federal and Kogi state governments, traditional rulers, and other stakeholders.

Azad Nawabuddin, the plant director, emphasized that the skill acquisition program is part of a broader strategy to promote job creation and economic development. He highlighted the importance of fish farming as a sustainable livelihood that can provide food and income for families.

Ademola Adeyemi, the head of social performance at Dangote Cement, reiterated the company's commitment to corporate social responsibility and community upliftment. Kogi State Governor Akinola Oluropo Babatund praised Aliko Dangote for his support and urged beneficiaries to utilize the opportunities effectively.

The program is part of a series of initiatives aimed at empowering the community, which has previously included training in poultry production and solar entrepreneurship.
