Dangote Cement Launches Empowerment Programs in Benue

Dangote Cement PLC initiated empowerment programs in Benue State, specifically in six host communities within Gboko Local Government Area. The program will provide cash grants to 150 women, agricultural inputs to 52 farmers, and skill development training for 30 young people.

Dr. Dele Alak, the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, praised Dangote Group for its commitment to social and economic contributions in the region. Mr. Wakeel Olayiwola, head of social performance at Dangote Cement, reaffirmed the company's dedication to corporate social responsibility and community development agreements.

The initiative is part of a five-year plan that began in 2025, aiming to ensure that the six communities benefit from the company's social investment programs. Additionally, a scholarship scheme for students from these communities will be launched soon.

Last year, 230 individuals benefited from similar programs, and the company plans to continue these initiatives throughout the current community development agreement.
