Dickson Calls Kogi Court Ruling on NDC Registration Illegal

Henry Dickson, the former governor of Bayelsa State and a leader of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), responded to a ruling by the Federal High Court in Lokoja, Kogi State, which set aside the party's registration with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Dickson described the court order, delivered by Justice Isah Dashen, as lacking legal merit and aimed at undermining the party's foundation.

He asserted that the ruling would not stand and announced that the NDC's legal team would take appropriate steps to overturn the judgment. Dickson emphasized that the court's decision was anti-democratic and insisted that the NDC remains committed to its political activities.

He noted that the party had registered with INEC in December 2025 and that the ruling was an anomaly that would be corrected through judicial channels. Dickson also claimed that thousands of Nigerians are registered members of the NDC and called for solidarity among party members.
