Kogi State Denies Ethnic Bias in Civil Service Jobs

The Kogi State government, led by Governor Ahm Ododo, has officially denied claims of ethnic bias in civil service job opportunities. This response follows a viral voice note from a female civil servant expressing concerns about the alleged exclusion of Ebira youth from employment within the state civil service.

In a statement issued on Saturday by Commissioner Kingsley Fanwo, the government reaffirmed its principles of inclusivity and engagement with citizens. Governor Ododo emphasized that the voice note represented an individual opinion and that the administration is committed to upholding freedom of expression while ensuring that citizens can voice their concerns without fear of persecution.

The government also highlighted its dedication to addressing grievances promptly and maintaining equity and fairness in civil service employment. Citizens were urged to remain calm and disregard any attempts to create unnecessary tension or spread misinformation regarding the issue.
