Kogi Government Supports Victims of Adavi Tanker Crash

The Kogi State government, led by Governor Ahm Ododo, has expressed its condolences and pledged support for the victims of a horrific tanker crash that occurred on Thursday in Okunchi, Adavi Local Government Area. The accident involved a BUA Cement truck and resulted in a massive fire outbreak that destroyed vehicles and residential buildings, claiming lives, including that of a motorcyclist, and leaving several others critically injured, including the cement truck driver.

A government delegation, headed by Alh. Ahm Oricha, the state project coordinator for the Kogi Agil Project, visited the crash site and hospitals on Friday to convey the governor's message of solidarity.

The delegation met with community leaders and residents, who commended the government's swift response and ongoing road construction efforts aimed at preventing further tragedies. The government assured the community of its commitment to improving road infrastructure and safety measures, particularly concerning heavy-duty vehicles, and praised the medical team's efforts while urging caution on the roads.
