Three Dead, Two Injured in Kogi Road Crash Incident

On Thursday at 8:30 PM, a tragic road crash occurred on Oken Lokoja Road in Kogi State, resulting in the deaths of three individuals and serious injuries to two others. The accident involved a diesel tanker registered under the number T 20638LA from Mangal Company, which lost control and collided with an approaching vehicle.

The impact triggered a fire that engulfed the tanker and spread to nearby residential structures, destroying a house and a mosque in the area. The victims, identified as Momo Jimoh Ahm, were burnt beyond recognition.

The injured were taken to a hospital for treatment. Tenimu Yusuf Etuku, the Kogi State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), confirmed the incident and attributed the crash to brake failure.

The bodies of the deceased were transported to a general hospital for autopsy, and efforts were made to clear the wreckage and restore traffic on the highway.
